ISTANBUL, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) — Türkiye’s exports to G20 countries climbed nearly 37 percent from 2019 to 2023, approaching 100 billion U.S. dollars, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Monday.
In 2019, Türkiye’s exports to G20 member nations totaled 71.2 billion dollars. By 2023, this figure had climbed to 97.2 billion dollars, according to Anadolu.
Germany was the country’s top export destination, with exports rising by nearly 27 percent, followed by the United States, where exports grew by 66 percent. Britain ranked third, with exports increasing by 10 percent.
During the four-year period, Türkiye’s exports expanded to most of the G20 member states, with declines observed only in Saudi Arabia and Argentina.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday and Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the summit, Erdogan described it as a crucial platform for discussing the global economy and energy security. ■
